I am a fan of period mysteries (Agatha Christie, Patricia Wentworth, etc.) and was hoping to find a new series to begin. Overall, this story was fine, but I was so disappointed that the author decided to portray the only overtly "Christian" character as a mental case. What a tiresome cliche in this day and age. If the author feels the need to take cheap shots at Christians, I'll pass on future books. Did not like constant swearing in this book. Would have been a good read unless other things came up I Did not like, but I will not know because I am not finishing the book!
